What To Expect
Evacuation of Residents
In flood conditions, Witney will be cut off by flood water in Bridge Street, and the Town bridge may be inaccessible. Go to your nearest evacuation centre without endangering yourself and others. Neighbours, many who are also friends, will always help each other in extreme conditions.
What is Available?
Access to a prearranged temporary evacuation location with basic services including heating, lighting, power, seating, and kitchen facilities.Agreements are in place for these sites to be opened by key holders in case of temporary emergency evacuation. More sites will be identified in future. Please contact your local Flood Warden if in any doubt about where to go. Have your Community Emergency Plan ready to enact.
Storage of Vehicles
Public car parks, and car parks associated with the identified Evacuation Centres in Witney. Please use these locations only if they are safe to access. Your own personal safety is paramount in emergency situations.
